Policy
Your anonymity isn’t just a feature — it’s a promise. Here’s exactly what we collect, what we don’t, and how we protect you.
Stiletto Confessions was built on one principle: your secrets are yours. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle the information collected through TheStacieStiletto.com, including all pages, features, and submission forms. By using this site, you agree to the practices described here.
01 — The Operator
Stiletto Confessions is operated by Stacie Stiletto through TheStacieStiletto.com. References to “we,” “us,” or “our” in this Policy mean the operator of this site. For any privacy-related questions, contact us at StacieStiletto@gmail.com.
02 — Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways: information you provide voluntarily, and information collected automatically when you visit.
Information you provide:
- Confession or story submissions you send through our submission form
- Any optional contact information you voluntarily include (we do not require it)
- Messages or emails you send to us directly
Information collected automatically:
- IP address and approximate geographic location (country/region level)
- Browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages visited, time spent, and referring URLs
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 6)
03 — Anonymous Submissions
We do not require your name, email address, or any identifying information to submit a confession. Submissions are designed to be anonymous.
Important notice: While we do not collect your name, submission forms process your IP address at the server level as part of standard web infrastructure. We do not store IP addresses alongside published confessions, and we do not use them to identify or re-identify submitters. However, no internet submission is perfectly untraceable — if you require absolute anonymity, consider using a VPN or the Tor Browser when submitting.
By submitting a confession, you grant Stiletto Confessions a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to publish, display, edit for clarity or length, and share that submission on this website and associated social media channels. Your submission will not be attributed to your name or identity.
We reserve the right to decline or remove any submission at our sole discretion.
04 — How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To operate, maintain, and improve the website
- To review and publish anonymous confessions
- To respond to direct messages or contact requests
- To monitor site performance and analyze traffic patterns
- To protect the security and integrity of the platform
- To comply with legal obligations when required
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use submission content for advertising targeting. We do not build individual user profiles for marketing purposes.
05 — Who We Share Data With
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: Third-party platforms that help us operate the site (web hosting, form processing, analytics) may have access to technical data under their own privacy policies. These include services such as WordPress hosting providers, Cloudflare, and Google Analytics.
- Legal compliance: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority — for example, in response to a valid subpoena.
- Protection of rights: We may share information if we believe in good faith that it is necessary to prevent fraud, abuse, or harm to persons.
Published confessions are shared publicly on the site and on social media by design — this is the core function of the platform. All published confessions are anonymous.
05b — Advertising & Affiliate Links
This site may display third-party advertisements and contains affiliate links. Here is what that means for your privacy:
Advertising: We may participate in third-party advertising programs, including Google AdSense. These ad networks use cookies and tracking technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites. We do not control which ads are served or the data practices of these ad networks. Ad network data practices are governed by their own privacy policies.
Affiliate links: Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission — at no additional cost to you. Affiliate partners may use cookies to track referrals from our site. We only link to products or services we believe are relevant to our audience.
For full details on how we use advertising and affiliate relationships, see our Disclosure Page.
06 — Cookies & Tracking
This website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to improve your experience and gather analytics data. Types of cookies we use:
- Essential cookies: Required for the website to function (e.g., WordPress session cookies)
- Analytics cookies: Used to understand how visitors interact with the site (e.g., Google Analytics, which anonymizes IP addresses)
- Preference cookies: Store settings like age-verification for After Dark content
You can disable cookies through your browser settings. Note that some features of the site may not function properly if cookies are disabled. To opt out of interest-based advertising, visit the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page or manage your Google ad preferences at adssettings.google.com.
EU/GDPR users: If you are visiting from the European Economic Area (EEA), our legal basis for processing analytics data is Legitimate Interest, and our legal basis for advertising and affiliate cookies is Consent. You have the right to withdraw consent or object to this processing at any time. To exercise your rights, contact us at StacieStiletto@gmail.com.
07 — Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you are located, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (where applicable)
- Objection: Object to certain types of processing
- Portability: Request a portable copy of your data (EU/EEA users)
- Opt-out of sale: We do not sell data, so this right is already honored by default
Because confessions are submitted anonymously, we may not be able to locate or delete a specific submission if we cannot verify it originated from you. To make a data request, contact us at StacieStiletto@gmail.com with as much detail as possible.
If you are located in the EEA and believe we have not handled your data correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants you additional rights. We do not sell personal information. For requests related to your CCPA rights, contact us at the email above.
08 — Data Retention
Published confessions remain on the site indefinitely unless removed at our discretion or upon a valid request. Server logs and analytics data are retained for up to 26 months and then purged or anonymized. If you contacted us by email, we retain that correspondence for as long as it is relevant to our operations.
09 — Children’s Privacy
Stiletto Confessions is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, please contact us immediately at StacieStiletto@gmail.com and we will take appropriate action, including deletion of any such information.
10 — Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. The site is served over HTTPS. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to take your own precautions — including using a VPN if maximum anonymity is important to you.
11 — Third-Party Links
Our site may contain links to external websites or social media platforms. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
12 — Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the change. Continued use of the site after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
